The Thursday Plenary Sessions are as follows. Please note the scheduled times differ from previous days. Both sessions will be held at the same time, 11:15 to 12:30. This gives you two riveting presenters and topics from which to choose.

  • Willem H. Ouwehand, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Experimental Hematology at the University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. The title of Ouwehand’s talk is, “The 100,000 Genomes Project: Which Results Do I Share With My Patient and Why?”
  • Sean Morrison, Ph.D., is Director of the Children’s Research Institute at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

He also serves as Mary McDermott Cook Chair in Pediatric Genetics, and the Katharyne and Gene Bishop Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Research at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center. The title of Morrison’s talk is, “Bone Marrow Niches.”

Finally, we would like to thank the many people who worked hard to bring the best of Berlin to you for this ISTH 2017 Congress, particularly the members of the Local Organizing Committee for their efforts to make your visit a success.
